Some of Our Experts

Peter A. Schneider, MD, FACC

Professor of Surgery, Division of Vascular & Endovascular Surgery, University of California – San Francisco; Founding Partner, InRoad Medical

Dr. Schneider is a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery and is the past president of Western Vascular Society and Vascular and Interventional Advances (VIVA). He has been invited to numerous national and international visiting professorships, served as director, faculty, or course director for many specialty courses and performed revascularization procedures in more than a dozen countries. He has co-authored multiple books on vascular disease, developed several medical devices, and holds numerous patents. Dr. Schneider was the founding member and chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery at Kaiser Permanente in Hawaii from 1994-2018, where he oversaw the development of the first endovascular operating room in the Kaiser healthcare system. At Kaiser, he developed a Diabetic Limb Treatment Program and a surveillance program for patients with aneurysms and a registry for patients with carotid disease used for surveillance.

David Deaton, MD, FACC

Adjunct Associate Professor of Surgery, University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine;
Founding Partner, InRoad Medical

Dr. Deaton was deeply involved in the development of endovascular aortic therapy beginning with pre-clinical work in 1993 and significantly contributed to many interventional/endovascular techniques over the last three decades.   Dr. Deaton has practiced in a variety of private and academic settings, most recently as Chief – Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC and Thinkas Director, Clinical Vascular Research and Founder and Medical Director, Vascular Non-Invasive Laboratory.  Previously, he served as Chief Medical Officer for Endologix and Syntactx, in addition to consulting for a variety of start-up and established medical device companies. Dr. Deaton has held leadership positions in several vascular societies (SVS, PVSS, Chesapeake Vascular), most recently as Chairman of the Political Action Committee of the SVS.
